NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's lacrosse team fell to Temple on Saturday at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex with a final score of 19-5. Moira Olexa scored a hat trick for the Monarchs.

Temple (6-8, 1-3) started the first quarter out strong tallying seven goals and didn't allow ODU to score.

ODU (4-11, 0-4) got on the board to start the second quarter as Sydney Taylor bounced a shot past the keeper. That was the only goal the Monarchs could score as the Owls went on to add six more goals and took a 13-1 lead into halftime.

Temple added on in the third quarter scoring two goals before Annalynn Pompetti took a pass from Taylor and found the back of the net making it 15-2. Temple responded to the Monarchs goal with two more goals and led 17-2 going into the fourth quarter.

Temple extended its lead to 19-2 in the fourth quarter before Moira Olexa scored three goals making it 19-5 but it was too much for the Monarchs to overcome as Temple would take the victory.

The Monarchs are back in action Saturday, April, 22 when they travel to Cincinnati for a game starting at 12 p.m.
