ODU Lacrosse Falls To Virginia Tech 8-4 On Tuesday

NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's lacrosse team fell to Virginia Tech on Tuesday 8-4 at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex. Four different Monarchs scored in the loss.
 
The first quarter was dominated by Virginia Tech (8-6) as they jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead. 
 
The second quarter was controlled by ODU (4-10) after the Hokies scored to make the lead 5-0 a couple minutes into the period. Gracyn Roth would cause a turnover, picking up the ground ball before running unscathed towards goal and would fire it into the back of the net with 9:14 left. Danielle Dundas would cut into the Tech lead some more as she came off a pick and slung a shot past the keeper making it 5-2 with just under five minutes left in the half. 
 
Virginia Tech would start the third quarter with a goal but ODU would respond when Caroline Shaefer bounced a shot past the keeper making it 6-3. The Hokies added another goal and one minute later Danielle Dundas would score to which would end at 7-4 going into the fourth quarter.
 
In the fourth quarter the Monarchs had their opportunities but couldn't convert any goals. Virginia Tech would add one more goal and run the clock out taking the victory 8-4.
 
Old Dominion is back in action Saturday, Apr. 15, they will host the Temple Owls at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex starting at noon.
