NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Old Dominion Women's lacrosse (4-8, 0-2) team fell to Vanderbilt on Saturday, 17-7. Jessica Pisani led the Monarchs offensively with three goals.
Vanderbilt took an early 2-0 lead in the first quarter as the Monarchs had some chances offensively but couldn't convert.
Vanderbilt would go up 3-0 to start the second quarter before Jessica Pisani got ODU on the board. The Commodores would score five more goals making it 8-1, Sydney Taylor cut into the lead with her first goal of the game. ODU would make it 9-3 with 22 seconds before halftime as Caroline Shaefer slipped and fired a shot into the back of the net.
Vanderbilt would score two goals to start the third quarter taking its lead to 11-3, The Monarchs answered with three goals as Shaefer scored and they Pisani would score back-to-back goals making it 11-6 going into the fourth quarter.
The Commodores started the fourth quarter with a goal before Jayme Weber would score a goal making it 12-7. That would be all the scoring for ODU as Vanderbilt would score five more goals and take the win 17-7.
ODU is back in action next Saturday, Apr. 1 at James Madison starting at noon.
