NORFOLK, Va. – The 23rd-ranked Old Dominion women's tennis team returns to the home courts of the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center this weekend with a pair of Sun Belt Conference matchups.

On Saturday, the Monarchs host defending Sun Belt Conference champion South Alabama for a 10 a.m. match. The next afternoon they'll entertain Southern Miss for a 1 p.m. start.

"We are excited to host our first Sun Belt Conference matches this weekend. South Alabama won the Sun Belt title last year so we are anxious to see how we match up against them. We hope to have good turnout of fans to support this great Monarch team. We have had an awesome season and chances of catching us in action are limited," said ODU Head Coach Dominic Manilla."

ODU (8-4, 3-0) hits the home courts after a 5-2 win at 75th-ranked Marshall on March 17. The Monarchs got the doubles point and three straight wins at the top three spots in singles to clinch the dual. Shahar Biran leads the team in singles wins this spring with eight, followed by Sofia Johnson and Tatsiana Sasnouskaya with six.

South Alabama (12-1, 2-0) comes into the match after defeating Arkansas State 7-0 on March 18. Luminita Tutunaru leads them in singles wins this spring with 11, with Chems Doha Zeghlouli and Tereza Dejnozkova right behind with nine. The Jaguars lead the all-time series 3-0 over ODU and have won 19 Sun Belt Conference team titles.

Southern Miss (6-4, 1-2) will have a match with James Madison on Saturday before heading to Norfolk. The Golden Eagles enter the weekend after defeating Texas State 5-2 on March 17. Maddison Ricardo leads the team in singles wins (13), with Clara Tardivel (11) and Hannah Chambers (10) following her. This will be the first-ever meeting with Southern Miss.

The Monarchs will continue a home-stand next weekend hosting Arkansas State on April 1 and ULM on April 2.
