ST. MARY'S, Md. - Old Dominion University Sailing placed ninth at the St. Mary's Team Race and the Monarchs finished 14th at the Navy Women's Fleet Race over the weekend.
At St. Mary's, ODU was in Group B and won six races with a win over Fordham, Hobart & William, SUNY Maritime, Cornell, Tulane, and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The skippers for the weekend were Rider Odom, Finn Ciszewski, and Parker Purrington, while the crew was Diogo Silva, Asia Acosta, Parker Younger and Grace Wright.
At the Navy Women's Fleet Race, Elizabeth Gildea, Alivia Markham, and Isabelle Kanach placed 15th in Division A. The trio had three top-10 finishes.
The Division B team of Megan Geith and Cadence Goodnight finished 13th. The duo had four top-10 finishes.
ODU returns next weekend as they head across the bridge to Hanbury in Hampton, Va and they will also compete at home in the Aaron Szambecki Team Race.
