NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion Head Men's Tennis Coach Dominik Mueller announced on Wednesday the signing of Aryan Saleh as part of the 2023-24 recruiting class.
"Getting the commitment from Aryan is huge for us. He was recruited by several Power Five schools, which shows what a high end recruit he is. All my contacts in Germany had the same thing to say about him: that he is the ultimate competitor and that he loves nothing more than tennis," said Mueller.
"That was 100% what I experienced from him during the recruiting process. I think he will be a tremendous addition for us, and with him and Connor we will have a strong Freshman class. If you add our current freshman Cosme and Yanis, the future of ODU Men's Tennis has never been more promising," he added.
A native of Eschborn, Germany, Saleh is currently ranked #101 in the German Open Mens rankings and was a Top Five Junior in Germany. He represented his state Hessen in "Große Medenspiele" where all 16 states come together for a big team tournament. He also won several open tournaments in Germany last year.
"I visited a lot of schools, also big schools, but at no school other than at ODU did it feel like a family for me. I could feel that the staff at ODU believed in me the most, and not only in me but in every other member of the family," said Saleh. "I'm confident that we will improve as a team on and off the court, thanks to the amazing coaching staff. I am really blessed with this opportunity and my sixth sense told me that Norfolk, VA is the perfect address for me to fulfill my dreams."
