Nick Saldiveri and Zack Kuntz

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion Football tight end Zack Kuntz and offensive lineman Nick Saldiveri have been invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, the NFL announced on Wednesday.

The pair of Monarchs are two of 319 players that received an invite to the Combine that begins in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 28.

Kuntz played in the first five games this season before a season-ending injury. He recorded 12 catches for 144 yards and a pair of touchdowns, including the game-winner against Arkansas State.

In 2021, Kuntz finished second in the country in receptions by a tight end with 73, finished ninth in the country in yards by a tight end with 692 and also ninth and tied for the ODU lead with five touchdowns. He led ODU in receiving nine times and had five games of eight catches or more, including a career-high of nine twice. He earned first-team all-conference honors and also CoSIDA Academic All-District accolades.

A three-year starter for the Monarchs at right tackle, Saldiveri participated in the Reese's Senior Bowl last week and showed his versatility, playing center, right guard and right tackle.

Saldiveri started 35 games in his ODU career, 34 at right tackle and one at right guard. He was named second-team All-Sun Belt this season and honorable mention C-USA in 2021.

This is the second time in program history ODU has two players at the same combine, as Travis Fulgham and Oshane Ximines participated in the 2019 Combine. In total, Kuntz and Saldiveri will be the fifth and sixth players at the Combine, joining Fulgham, Ximines, Zach Pascal and Bunmi Rotimi.

The Sun Belt Conference has 12 total players invited to the Combine. Two each from ODU, App State, Coastal Carolina, Louisiana and South Alabama, and one each from Southern Miss and Troy.
