NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's basketball team starts a four-game road stretch with a pair of games this coming week. On Thursday night, they'll visit Georgia State to take on the Panthers at the GSU Convocation Center in Atlanta for a 7 p.m. tip. Two days later, the Monarchs will be in San Marcos, Texas to face the Texas State Bobcats in a 5 p.m. EST tip from the Strahan Arena at the University Events Center.
The matchup with Georgia State is the 25th all-time meeting with ODU holding an 18-6 lead in the series. The Monarchs took the first meeting this year 70-58 on Jan. 19 in Norfolk as Tyreek Scott-Grayson had 24 points, nine rebounds and five assists, while Chaunce Jenkins added 21 points and three assists. Georgia State won the last meeting in Atlanta during the 2015-16 season by a 68-64 count.
Saturday's meeting with Texas State will be the first-ever matchup.

Chaunce Jenkins scored 16 points to lead four in double figures as ODU defeated Georgia Southern 64-58 on Saturday night. Mekhi Long had his fourth-straight double double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Scott-Grayson added 13 points and Faizon Fields had a season-high 12 points and tied his season-high of eight rebounds. The Monarchs hit 26-of-28 from the foul line in the contest.
All five Georgia State starters scored in double figures, but the Panthers' late comeback came up short in a 79-71 loss to Sun Belt Conference leader Southern Miss Saturday at the GSU Convocation Center. Brenden Tucker led the Panthers with 17 points, followed by Jamaine Mann with 16 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Collin Moore scored 15 with five rebounds and four assists.
Texas State, who will face Arkansas State on Thursday, nearly overcame a 21-point halftime deficit as they dropped a 68-64 decision to Troy on Saturday. Mason Harrell had 20 points to lead all scorers, while Tyrel Morgan added 14 for Texas State.

ODU heads into the final three weeks of the regular season with four players in double figures. Scott-Grayson leads at 14.2 points per game, while Jenkins is close behind at 13.8 points per contest. Ben Stanley is averaging 10.4 points, while Long is at 10.2 per game. Jenkins leads in assists (68), while Scott-Grayson is next (62). Long leads in rebounding at 8.4 per game, with Dericko Williams (5.5) and Scott-Grayson (5.0) following.
In Sun Belt Conference play, Long is nearly averaging a double double at 10.5 points and 9.6 rebounds. Scott-Grayson is scoring 15.5 points per game in conference play, while Jenkins is at 14.4 per game.

The Panthers are an extremely balanced squad with five players averaging in double figures and one at 9.3 per game. Dwon Odom leads at 13.2 points per game, followed by Brenden Tucker (12.8), Collin Moore (11.3), Mann (10.6) and Hudson (10.5), while Evan Johnson is chipping in 9.3 points per game. Hudson leads on the boards at 7.3 per contest, while Odom leads in assists (83).
ABOUT TEXAS STATE
Mason Harrell leads Texas State in scoring at 16.1 points per game and is second in assists (45) and steals (21). Nighael Ceaser is next in scoring at 8.9 points per game and leads in rebounding at 6.7 per contest. Tyrel Morgan is third in scoring (8.7 ppg) and second in rebounding (6.3 rpg).
