TAMPA, Fl. – The Old Dominion women's sailing team competed in the USF Women's team race over the weekend. The Monarchs had a 14-4 record and took first place at the event.
After round one of the event Old Dominion was 2-1 defeating Wisconsin and South Florida. Jacksonville defeated ODU.
In round two the Monarchs finished 3-0 defeating Wisconsin, South Florida, and Jacksonville.
ODU finished round three with a 2-1 record defeating Wisconsin and Jacksonville. The Monarchs would fall to South Florida.
Entering round four ODU had a 7-2 record and would add two more wins to it when they defeated Wisconsin and Jacksonville but would fall to South Florida.
In round five the Monarchs went 3-0 defeating South Florida, Wisconsin, and Jacksonville.
Entering the final round with a 12-3 record ODU finished the round 2-1. South Florida defeated the Monarchs, Old Dominion would defeat Wisconsin and Jacksonville.
ODU was led by Elizabeth Gildea and Isabelle Kanach, the second boat was led by Emma Friedauer and Allison Volk and the third boat was led by Megan Geith and Cadence Goodnight.
The Monarchs are back in action Mar. 4 and 5 when they travel to the GW/GTN team race in Alexandria, Va.
