ODU Lacrosse Falls To William & Mary 11-9 On Wednesday.

NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion Women's Lacrosse team fell to William & Mary (1-2) Wednesday night, 11-9. Moira Olexa led the Monarchs offensively scoring three goals.  

Danielle Dundas started the scoring after Sydney Taylor found her cutting giving ODU (2-2) an early 1-0 lead. Callie Culhane extended the Monarch lead as she converted her free position attempt. Old Dominion's lead quickly evaporated when the Kate Draddy scored with two minutes left in the first quarter. The 

Tribe evened the game up at two scoring with 30 seconds left in the first quarter.  

The second quarter was a defensive battle. Olexa scored her first goal of the game giving ODU the 3-2 advantage. William & Mary would get two more goals in the last two minutes of the first half giving them a 4-3 lead entering the third quarter.  

William & Mary added four more goals in the third quarter for an 8-3 lead with five minutes left in the quarter. ODU cut into the lead when Olexa scored with three minutes left and Olivia Tanneberger made the score 8-5 with 13 seconds left in the third quarter.  

In the fourth quarter Lilly Siskind would trim the lead to two goals. The Tribe would add two more goals giving them a 10-6 lead. Siskind would get her second goal of the game before Sam Van Gieson of William & Mary gave them a 11-7 lead. The Monarchs would try to make a comeback when Culhane scored her second goal on a free position. Olexa added her third goal with just over two minutes left but it would prove to be too much.  

ODU is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 25 at Delaware for a game starting at noon.
