MOBILE, Ala. – Day two saw more of the same for Old Dominion offensive lineman Nick Saldiveri. A new position. Saldiveri took multiple reps at center during inside run and additional reps at right guard on the second day of Reese's Senior Bowl practice in Mobile, Alabama.
Saldiveri played 1,736 snaps in his career at Old Dominion and did not take an in-game rep at center.
"The biggest thing Nick has shown me is that he's got position versatility. We've put him at right guard, put him at center, we plan on working him a little bit more at right tackle tomorrow," Green Bay Packers Assistant Offensive Line Coach and Saldiveri's coach for the week said. "He's got the mental bandwidth to be able to handle that, the multiplicity to play a lot of different positions. He's also done a great job of bringing enthusiasm each and every single day."
A native of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Saldiveri started 35 games at Old Dominion, with 34 coming at right tackle, while starting one game this past season at right guard.
"The game is a little bit different on the inside, you just have to know what you're dealing with," Saldiveri said. "Things come at you a little faster inside and as long you're prepared and you study everything will be okay."
Saldiveri will continue Senior Bowl practice tomorrow with the game scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4 on the NFL Network.
