MOBILE, Ala. – Old Dominion offensive lineman Nick Saldiveri began his week of practice at the Reese's Senior Bowl on Tuesday in Mobile, Alabama.
Saldiveri started 11 games on the offensive line in the 2022 season for the Monarchs, starting 10 games at right tackle and one at right guard. One thing he'll be able to show to NFL teams this week is his positional versatility. Saldiveri took his reps today at right guard.
"I have advantages inside at guard that some others don't," Saldiveri said. "It's a different game in there. Things happen faster, you have to have very disciplined eyes. At the same time everything's been cross trained and I've been preparing for this."
The Waxhaw, North Carolina native was a three-year starter for the Monarchs, twice earning all-conference honors. The two teams are split into the American and National Teams at the Senior Bowl. Saldiveri is the only Group of Five offensive or defensive lineman on his team.
"It's awesome to be the only one on the team. I love Old Dominion. I always want to put the University in the highest light. Being able to come out here and compete against great players is awesome. It was awesome out here," Saldiveri Said. "I'm always grateful to play the game of football whether it be at Old Dominion or here at the Reese's Senior Bowl. It was fun to come out here and compete. I got some things to work on, but taking one day at a time, going 1-0."
The Reese's Senior Bowl is set for Saturday, Feb. 4 at 2:30 p.m. at Hancock Whitney Stadium on the campus of South Alabama.
