Old Dominion returns five from last year's Conference USA championship team in Tatsiana Sasnouskaya, Sofia Johnson, Alexandra Viktorovitch, Alesya Yakubovich and Shahar Biran. A pair of freshmen have joined the team and made quite the impact during the fall season, Mya Byrd from Maury High School in Norfolk and Allison Isaacs from Boca Raton, Florida.

Sasnouskaya ended the fall season with a 7-2 record and will enter the spring ranked 37th nationally in singles, while Biran was 5-3 and is currently ranked 112th. In doubles, the duo of Allison Isaacs and Alexandra Viktorovitch went 6-4 and are ranked 52nd.

The Monarchs return home to face Columbia in their home opener on January 21 at noon inside the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.

ODU Head Coach Dominic Manilla on season opener
"We are ready to get the spring started. We are feisty and hungry to prove something. Our spring schedule is exciting and will take everything we have, but we know what it takes to hold a conference trophy in April and to be in the NCAA tournament in May. I'm looking forward to kicking things off against a strong Penn State team in Happy Valley."
