ODU Mourns the Passing of Former Swimmer, Assistant Coach, Tyler HavertyODU Mourns the Passing of Former Swimmer, Assistant Coach, Tyler Haverty

NORFOLK, Va. – Former Old Dominion all-conference swimmer and assistant coach Tyler Haverty passed away on Tuesday at the age of 37.
 
Haverty earned nine different all-conference honors during his time at ODU, earning a second place finish at the CAA Championships as a senior in the 200 freestyle, and a third place in the 100 freestyle. He graduated with a degree in communications in 2007 and served as an assistant coach for five years.
 
There will be a "Paddle Out" ceremony, in Tyler's Memory on Sunday July 3 at First Landing State Park, 2500 Shore Drive (Beach side) at 7:30 am.
 
A celebration of Tyler's life will be held on Sunday, July 3 at The Water Table, 530 Winston Salem Ave. in Virginia Beach, VA from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
