NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's basketball team begins a six-game homestand throughout the month of December with a 7 p.m. tip against the Spartans of Norfolk State on Saturday night.

ESPN Radio 94.1FM will have the radio broadcast with Ted Alexander and Dave Twardzik on the call starting at 6:30 p.m. with the Toyota Pregame Show.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Old Dominion dropped a 75-60 decision at College of Charleston on Tuesday night. The Monarchs rallied from a 12-0 deficit to start the game, but fell victim to a big run by the Cougars to start the second half. Chaunce Jenkins scored 17 points off the bench, while Tyreek Scott-Grayson added 13. Mekhi Long added nine points, while Faizon Fields had season-highs of six rebounds and four blocked shots.
 
Norfolk State saw a three-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday night as they fell at #1-ranked Houston 100-52. Kris Bankston paced the Spartans with 14 points, while Caheim Brown added 11 off the bench. Bankston, Joe Bryant, Jr. and Dana Tate, Jr. topped Norfolk State in rebounds with four.
 
SERIES HISTORY
ODU leads the all-time series 14-6 having won the last four meetings. The Monarchs scored an 80-66 victory over the Spartans in the 2020-21 season at Joe Echols Hall using a 9-0 run in the final minutes to pull away for the win.

Ben Stanley leads ODU in scoring at 14.5 points per game and is averaging 4.6 rebounds per contest. Jenkins is next at 12.6 points per game and shares the team lead in assists with Scott-Grayson at 24 apiece who is next in scoring at 12.3 points per contest. On the boards, Long is leading at 8.3 per game, with Scott-Grayson and Dericko Williams being next at 5.4 per game.
 
The Monarchs are averaging 70 points per game, while allowing 67.1. From the field, ODU is hitting .447 (213-of-477), .333 from 3-point range (35-of-105) and .647 from the foul line (99-of-153). Season tickets represent a savings of more than $50 for men's games and $45 for women's games, over single-game tickets. Single-game tickets for regular season men's and women's basketball games will go on sale later in the month. Single-game ticket prices start at $18 for men's games and $11 for women's games, with special pricing for senior citizens, ODU faculty and staff, youth (12 and younger) and members of the military. ODU students can register for student tickets for free to any ODU men's and women's home game.
