NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion University Football team had seven student-athletes earn College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District honors, CSC announced on Tuesday.
Devin Brandt-Epps, Malcolm Britt, Luke Lindenfeldar, John Morton, Obie Sanni, Dominik Soos and Hayden Wolff.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. The cumulative grade-point average may NOT be rounded up to 3.50.
Brandt-Epps has appeared in nine games, making six starts on the defensive line. He is second among ODU defensive linemen with 32 tackles, has 4.5 tackles for loss and three sacks.
Britt has played in all 11 games, seeing time on special teams as well as defense. He has eight tackles on the year.
Lindenfeldar has played in 11 games as a key player on special teams. He has recorded two tackles on the year.
Morton has played in 10 games this season as the holder. Last season, Morton was the long snapper on punts and the holder.
Sanni has appeared in seven games on special teams and at running back. He has 18 carries for 61 yards on the year and has returned one kick for 18 yards.
Soos has been the kickoff kicker for the Monarchs each of the last two seasons. This season, Soos has 20 touchbacks out of 45 kickoffs.
Wolff has started all 11 games at quarterback, completing 213-of-377 passes for 2,623 yards and 16 touchdowns. He has seven games throwing two or more touchdown passes and has a pair of 300-yard games passing.
Old Dominion travels to South Alabama to face the Jaguars on Saturday at noon EST.
