NEW ORLEANS -- Old Dominion senior forward Carla Morich was named on Tuesday as the Sun Belt conference Offensive Player of the Week by the conference office.
Morich scored her first two goals of the season on Sunday as Old Dominion played South Alabama to a 2-2 draw.
Old Dominion (3-6-2, 1-2-1) got on the board in the fifth minute as Morich took a rebound off a Megan Watts shot and put it in the back of the net for an early 1-0 ODU advantage.
That goal snapped a streak of over 300 minutes that the Jaguars had not allowed a goal. South Alabama has won eight of the last nine Sun Belt Conference Tournament titles.
Morich got the equalizer in the 65th minute as a corner kick was punched out and landed at her feet where she snuck one into the near corner for the eventual 2-2 draw.
The Monarchs now head to Troy on Thursday night for an 8 p.m. kick against the Trojans.
