Men's Soccer Drops Decision At #2 Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Old Dominion men's soccer team took on second-ranked Kentucky on Friday night and dropped a 2-0 Sun Belt Conference decision.
 
Kentucky (10-0-5, 4-0-3) got on the board in the 15th minute as Casper Grening found the back of the net.  The Monarchs kept the Wildcats at bay the rest of the half and trailed 1-0 at intermission.
 
In the second half, Eythor Bjorgolfsson found the top left corner of the net off a feed from Nick Gutmann in the 55th minute for the eventual 2-0 final. Michael Statham made seven saves for the Monarchs in the contest.
 
Old Dominion (6-6-2, 3-3-1) will close out the regular season on Tuesday night hosting Georgia Southern at 7 p.m. at the ODU Soccer Complex.
