ODU, UCONN, and Liberty have already clinched spots in the BIG EAST Tournament that will be held at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex, but there are many scenarios that will be confirmed this weekend at the conclusion of the BIG EAST regular season.

  • If UConn beats Temple, ODU must beat Liberty by two goals in order to be the No. 1 seed. Liberty would be the No. 2 Seed and UConn would be the No. 3 seed.
  • If Temple beats UConn, Temple is the No. 4 seed, and the winner of ODU/Liberty is the top-seed. If Liberty wins, ODU is the No. 3 seed and UConn is the No. 2 seed. If ODU wins, Liberty is the No. 2 seed and UConn is the No. 3 seed.
  • If Temple loses and Villanova loses to Georgetown – Temple is the No. 4 seed (Villanova and Providence eliminated)
  • If Temple loses, Villanova wins, and Providence loses to Quinnipiac – Villanova is the No. 4 seed (Temple and Villanova eliminated)
  • If Temple loses, Villanova wins and Providence wins (It ends in a three-way tie for fourth and is determined by goal-differential, causing Villanova to be eliminated)
  • Goal differential scenarios
  • Temple loses by just 1 goal – Temple is the No. 4 seed
  • Providence wins by just 1 goal – Temple is the No. 4 seed
  • Temple loses by exactly 2 goals and Providence wins by exactly 2 goals – Temple is the No. 4 seed
  • Temple loses by 2 or more goals and Providence wins by 3+ goals – Providence is the No. 4 seed
  • Temple loses by 3+ goals and Providence wins by 2+ goals – Providence is the No. 4 seed.

Old Dominion had a pair of victories over the weekend defeating Temple, 2-0 on Friday, Oct. 21 and VCU, 2-1 on Sunday, Oct. 23.
