NORFOLK, Va. – The 14th ranked Old Dominion Field Hockey team will welcome Columbia to the L.R. Hill Sports Complex on Friday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m., they will then be on the road for a matchup at Richmond on Sunday, Sept 11 at 12 pm.
 
Friday's game will be streamed on Monarch Media, while Sunday's game will be shown on ESPN+.
 
The Monarchs are coming off a 2-0 weekend with wins over JMU and American as well as Frederique Zandbergen being named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the week. ODU was set for a midweek matchup with Longwood on Wednesday, Sept. 7 but the game was cancelled due to weather in the area. Before the game got cancelled Old Dominion trailed the Lancers 1-0, then with just over nine minutes left in the half Nicole Fredricks knotted the score up before they called the game. Zandbergen still leads the team in points with 10 and Marlon de Bruijne leads the team in goals (4). 
 
Columbia will travel to Norfolk with a record of 1-1 with a win against LIU, 3-1 and their one loss was to Syracuse, 6-2. MK Myklebust leads the Lions in total points (5) and goals (2). She is also tied for the team lead in assists (1). The matchup Friday will be the first ever meeting between ODU and Columbia.
 
Richmond is coming off a 2-0 weekend with wins over William & Mary (3-1) and Towson (6-1). Regan McCrossan and Cori Nichols lead the Spiders with three goals apiece, while Lindsey Frank has the team high in points (7) and assists (3). Old Dominion defeated the Spiders last season 4-3. ODU's all-time record against Richmond is (34-0) dating back to 1979.
