NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's soccer team returns to action on Thursday as they head to Richmond to tangle with the Spiders in a 5 p.m. kick. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
ODU has won the last four meetings in the series and holds an 8-6-1 advantage in the all-time series. The Monarchs won 3-1 last season at home.
Old Dominion (1-4) enters the contest after a 1-0 victory on Sunday night over Longwood at home. The Monarchs used a goal from Yuliia Khrystiuk in the 16th minute and made that stand as the Lancers got off several chances in the back part of the second half but were thwarted by a tough ODU defense.
Richmond (1-3-1) lost its last two outings at Campbell, 3-0, on September 1 and to Liberty, 1-0, on September 4. They also dropped a 1-0 decision to Longwood to start the season. Molly Wierman leads the team with two goals, while Emma Coleman and Molly Morgan have one assist apiece.
The Monarchs return home on Sunday to face American at 6 p.m.
