NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion men's soccer team visits Loyola (MD) on Friday night for their first road contest of the 2022 season. Kickoff will be at 6 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+.
ODU (1-1) enters the match after dropping a 1-0 decision to American on Sunday night at the ODU Soccer Stadium. The Monarchs opened the 2022 season last Friday night with a 1-0 win over George Mason. Michael Eberle scored off a feed from Jan Marpe midway through second half.
Loyola (1-1) opened its season on August 26, dropping a 2-0 decision at N.C. State, before winning at Delaware on Monday night 3-0. Three different Greyhounds scored goals in the win over the Blue Hens.
In last year's match, Karan Mandair scored the game's only goal in the 57th minute, and goalkeeper Djibril Doumbia made a point-blank save with 5:37 left to help Old Dominion to a 1-0 win over the Greyhounds at the ODU Soccer Stadium.
ODU will return home on Friday, Sept. 9 to host Campbell at 7 p.m.
