NEW YORK - Cam MacGillivray of the Old Dominion field hockey team was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
MacGillivray helped lead ODU (1-1) to a win at 14th-ranked Boston College on Sunday. She racked up 11 saves in the victory, which ties her career high that dates back to 2019 against UConn. Both goals surrendered in the 3-2 victory were off of deflections, and she recorded eight of her 11 saves in the second half of the game.
The Monarchs will open their home schedule on Friday, September 2nd at 11 a.m., against the James Madison Dukes at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.
