NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion men's tennis team announced their 2022 fall schedule on Wednesday with seven scheduled events including a couple of new stops.

September will see the Monarchs open at an International Tennis Federation event hosted by the University of Illinois the week of September 12-18.   They will then head to Princeton for the Princeton Invitational which will be mock dual matches with Princeton, LSU, Michigan State and Tulsa on September 23-25.

The Monarchs will then head to the ITA All-American in Tulsa, Oklahoma from October 1-9 in an event that last year saw Luca Maldoner and Nicola Vidal each split matches in singles.  ODU players that don't earn a spot in Tulsa will compete in the River City Open hosted by the University of Richmond on October 7-9.

The ITA Atlantic Regionals will be hosted in Charlottesville by the University of Virginia from October 19-24.  Last year, the Monarchs came away with wins in doubles by Maldoner and Vidal along with a singles title for Francois Le Tallec.

November will see the Monarchs compete in possibly two events as the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships will be in San Diego from November 2-6.  This event is based on qualification from the regionals.  They'll also compete in the Liberty Hidden Duals from November 4-6 with Liberty, Penn State and Clemson.

"I think we put another challenging Fall schedule together for our players. I love starting and ending the Fall with a mock dual event since it allows us to get a good feeling for dual match intensity and especially for the newcomers to get a sense of what college tennis is all about," said ODU Head Coach Dominik Mueller. "We are competing against some of the best competition in the country in those events, so this will prepare us well for what's waiting for us in the Spring."
