NORFOLK, Va. – Inspired by tight end Zack Kuntz, the Old Dominion University football team is partnering with Uplifting Athletes to hold a Lift For Life. The Monarchs' Lift For Life event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 25 at 10 a.m. at SB Ballard Stadium. The event is open to the public.

Lift For Life is the signature fundraising event held nationwide by college student-athletes that are part of the Uplifting Athletes network.

Uplifting Athletes works with athletes to educate them about the platform sports provides to make a difference and empowers them to use that platform to inspire the Rare Disease Community with hope.

The 2022 Old Dominion Lift For Life will be a competition featuring a medicine ball tossing competition between the offense and defense.

Fans, family and friends can choose to support either the offense or defense and pledge for the average number of medicine ball toss yards the team averages. Please choose one side of the ball and back that team by visiting pledgeit.org/odulift22 and pledging now! You can also make a flat donation to either team.

Proceeds from the Monarchs' 2021 Lift For Life support Uplifting Athletes and its commitment to create Uplifting Leaders, engage in Uplifting Experiences, fund Rare Disease Research, and expand Rare Disease Awareness.

"I'm excited to be able to use my platform to give back to the Rare Disease Community," Kuntz said. "And help bring a great cause to a great community and program here at ODU."

Today, the challenges faced by the Rare Disease Community are bigger than any one individual, team or organization can tackle alone.
