NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion baseball team hosts a pair of midweek games this week to begin a five-game homestand to conclude the home portion of the schedule. The Monarchs open the set with VCU on Tuesday, May 10 at 6 p.m. and William & Mary on Wednesday, May 11 at 6 p.m. Both games will be streamed on CUSA.tv.
Around the Horn
Old Dominion took 2-of-3 from C-USA leader Southern Miss over the weekend, winning on Friday and Saturday and falling in 10 innings on Sunday.
Senior first baseman Matt Coutney continues to lead ODU offensively with a .367 batting average, while his 23 home runs are tied for second in the country. Andy Garriola is right behind him with a .350 average and is tied for eighth nationally with 19 homers.
Thomas Wheeler is the latest Monarch hitter to get hot, as he's 10-for-his-last 20 with three homers. He also leads the team with 18 stolen bases.

VCU is 28-18 and 13-5 in the Atlantic 10. The Rams are led by Tyler Locklear who has a .328 average with 10 homers and 43 RBIs.
