IRVING, Texas – Lilly Siskind of the Old Dominion University women's lacrosse team was named first-team All-American Athletic Conference, while Caroline Shaefer and Lauren Carey earned second-team honors, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Siskind ranks second in the American Athletic Conference and is tied for 22nd nationally with 57 goals on the year. She also is fourth in the AAC and tied for 25th in the nation with 77 points. Her 57 goals puts her tied for third in a single-season in ODU history and her 77 points ranks fourth. She delivered 14 double-digit scoring games this year out of 17, including 11 games where she scored three goals or more. She scored at least one goal in 16-of-17 games. A native of West Chester, Pennsylvania, Siskind notched a career-best seven goals and 10 points in ODU's 18-17 overtime win over Niagara.
Shaefer led the Monarchs and ranks fifth in the AAC with 68 draw controls, the second most in a single-season in ODU history. A native of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, she scored 12 goals to go along with 24 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers.
Carey led Old Dominion in caused turnovers with 28 for the second-consecutive season as she started all 17 games on defense. She secured 29 ground balls and recorded 22 draw controls.
Siskind and Shaefer earned all-conference honors for the second time in their careers, as both earned second-team accolades last season. It is the first all-conference honor for Carey.
