NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion baseball finishes off the regular season this weekend at WKU as the Monarchs begin a three-game series on Thursday, May 19 in Bowling Green. ODU takes on the Hilltoppers on Thursday and Friday at 6 p.m. and the Monarchs end the season on Saturday, May 21 at 1 p.m. Ted Alexander will have the call on all three games on Money Talk 1310 AM 100.9 FM and 97.3 HD2.

Old Dominion (35-15, 16-11 C-USA) clinched a Conference USA Tournament berth last weekend with a sweep over Marshall. Old Dominion completed its first Conference USA sweep of the season last weekend with a pair of one-run walk-off wins on Saturday and Sunday. Ryan Teschko delivered a bases loaded single in the 12th inning on Saturday, and catcher Brock Gagliardi clubbed a walk-off homer in the ninth to lift ODU to a 5-4 victory.
ODU leads Conference USA and is tied for second in the country with 109 home runs. The 109 homers is a new single-season program record, surpassing the 105 hit by the Monarchs last season.
Matt Coutney leads C-USA and is third in the country in homers with 23 and fifth in the league with a .359 batting average. He is fifth in the country in slugging percentage at .790 and third in the league in runs scored with 54.
Blake Morgan is first in Conference USA and fourth in the country with a 1.38 ERA, while Nick Pantos is 11th in the league with a 3.80 ERA.
Scouting WKU
WKU comes into the weekend with an 18-33 record and are 7-20 in league play. They have officially been eliminated from C-USA Tournament contention.
Tristin Garcia leads the offense with a .314 average with 17 doubles and 27 RBIs. A transfer from Alcorn State, Garcia was third in the country last season with a .445 batting average for the Braves.
Mason Vinyard leads the pitching staff with a 3.48 ERA, a 2-1 record and eight saves in 31 innings pitched.

ODU clinched its spot in the C-USA Tournament that begins on Wednesday, May 25, but seeding is still in question. Many scenarios are in play, but the Monarchs will be no worse than the No. 7 seed when the tournament begins next week in Hattiesburg.
