DALLAS - The 2022 Conference USA Men's Tennis Post-season awards were announced on Wednesday and Old Dominion came away with some recognition.
Francois Le Tallec was named to the All-C-USA First Team Singles, while the doubles tandems of Luca Maldoner and Nicola Vidal were a first team selection and the duo of Younes Lalami and Oliver Nolan were second team honorees.
Maldoner and Vidal finished the regular season ranked for the third straight year as they're currently 85th. In the fall season they won the ITA Atlantic Regionals and qualified for the ITA Fall Nationals.
Lalami and Nolan went 11-7 on the season playing at the one and two spots in the lineup. They recorded victories in the dual match season over Virginia Tech, Penn State, Penn and Rice. In the fall, they won the River City Open A-draw.
Le Tallec was selected as the automatic qualifier for the NCAA Singles Championship as he ended the regular season as the highest ranked player in the conference at 54th. He recorded three wins over players from the University of Virginia, including two nationally-ranked wins, to take the ITA Atlantic Regional in the fall to qualify for ITA Fall Nationals. Le Tallec has a 15-7 record this year, with a 3-1 mark vs. Top 50 players. In the spring he had wins over 18th-ranked Tyler Stice (Auburn) and conference wins over all-conference honorees from FAU and UTSA. Le Tallec earned C-USA Player of the Month once in the fall and Player of the Week honors once this spring.
The season is not over for Le Tallec as he will compete starting May 23 in the NCAA Singles Championship held at the University of Illinois.
