Lacrosse Finishes Season, Suffer 17-7 Defeat at Temple

Philadelphia - Old Dominion lacrosse finished its season with a 17-7 loss at Temple on Saturday afternoon.
 
Temple (11-5, 4-1 AAC) opened the day's scoring with a goal from Quinn Nicolai. Old Dominion (5-12, 0-5 AAC) answered back to tie the score six minutes later with a goal from Moira Olexa. The Owls managed to grab a lead shortly after and extend it to two with goals coming from Camryn Zavacky and Abaigeal Ryan. Lilly Siskind clawed the Monarchs back to within one scoring a goal late in the first quarter and tying the game with a goal early in the second. 
 
Belle Mastropietro scored for the Owls to make the score 4-3. Siskind completed her first half hat trick to bring the score back even at 4-4. Goals from Maeve Tobin and Riley McGowan were quickly responded with ODU goals from Molly May and Siskind. Siskind's fourth goal of the half came with two seconds left in the quarter to tie the score at 6-6 going into halftime. 
 
In the third quarter Temple scored five unanswered. Siskind responded with her fifth goal of the game to make the score 11-7 at the end of three. Temple added six-straight fourth quarter goals for the final 17-7 tally.
 
Lauren Carey caused one turnover and recovered one ground ball in the contest. Caroline Shaefer secured two draw controls and recovered two ground balls. Olexa scored one goal and secured three draw controls. 
 
Jenna Peccia made 15 saves for the Monarchs. This season she recorded 180 saves, sixth most in a single-season in school history.
 
Shaefer finished this season with 68 draw controls, second most in a single-season in Monarch history.
 
Siskind's five goals brought her total to 57 and her points to 77. Her 57 goals is tied for third most in school history and the 77 points is tied for fourth most in a season.
