The Monarchs picked up their third Conference USA series win of the year by taking two-of-three at UAB on Thursday and Friday. ODU took the opener 13-2 behind a pair of Matt Coutney home runs and five shutout innings from Blake Morgan (3-0) before splitting a Friday doubleheader to win the series. Old Dominion hit three more homers in a 9-5 win in game one of the twin bill, including another from Coutney, before dropping the final contest 7-4.
Coutney received C-USA Hitter of the Week honors on earlier on Monday after going 8-of-17 (.471) over the past week with five homers, a double and 11 RBIs.
