NORFOLK, Va. – The No. 34-ranked Old Dominion women's tennis team will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday with a pair of matches at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
 
At 10 a.m., the Monarchs will host Conference USA rival Charlotte, while at approximately 4 p.m. they will entertain soon-to-be Sun Belt Conference rival James Madison. Prior to the Charlotte match they will recognize two seniors - Yuliia Starodubtseva and Marina Alcaide.
 
"Senior Day is a special day.  The contributions these two seniors have made to our program will have a lasting impact on ODU tennis for years to come," said ODU head coach Dominic Manilla.  "I am excited to recognize and celebrate them Saturday morning."
 
ODU enters the final day of the regular season with a 15-6 record after a 7-0 win on April 10 over Navy. Starodubtseva, named Conference USA Athlete of the Week for the third time this spring on Wednesday, leads the Monarchs with a 16-1 record this spring at the top spot in the lineup. Now ranked 23rd nationally, Starodubtseva is joined in the national listings by Tatsiana Sasnouskaya (109th) and Alexandra Viktorovich (115th).  In doubles, Starodubtseva and Sasnouskaya are ranked seventh.
 
Charlotte is ranked 49th nationally with a 13-5 record after a 6-1 win over UAB on April 9. They are playing VCU before heading to Norfolk. Their doubles tandem of Margaux Maquet and Lucia Quiterio are ranked 31st nationally with a 16-3 record. Quiterio leads them in singles wins this spring with a 12-1 record.
 
James Madison is 9-10 after a 6-1 win over Elon on April 9. Kylie Moulin leads the Dukes this spring with an 11-2 record in singles at the number two spot, while Michelle Los Arcos and Daria Afanasyeva lead them in doubles this spring with six wins.
 
The Monarchs will next be in action at the Conference USA Tournament from April 21-24 at Middle Tennessee.
