NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University lacrosse scored a pair of goals in the final four minutes but it wasn't enough as Campbell edged the Monarchs 13-12 on Saturday at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.

Trailing 13-10 with just over four minutes remaining in the game, Caroline Shaefer and Corrinne Stratton scored goals two minutes apart, but Campbell (2-2) won the draw control after Stratton's goal and hung on for the one-goal win.

The teams traded goals early until Sydney Taylor put ODU up 4-3 early in the second quarter off a pass from Lilly Siskind.

Siskind added to ODU's lead with back-to-back goals before an Aly Matthews goal cut the Old Dominion (2-5) lead to 6-4. Siskind added her third goal in a four-minute span to put the Monarchs on top 7-5 which ODU would take into halftime.

Campbell came out quickly in the third quarter with two goals to tie the score before a Stratton goal put ODU back on top 9-8. The Camels responded with three-straight goals, two from Julianna Sanchez, to take an 11-9 lead.

Olivia Tanneberger cut the deficit to one at 11-10 but Campbell stretched its lead to 13-10 on goals from Mackenzie Kolesar and Sanchez.

ODU is back in action on Friday, March 11 at Delaware State.
