Men’s Golf Loses Race with Daylight at Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Old Dominion men's golf team was narrowly edged by the setting sun on Monday and were unable to complete the second round of the day as play at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate was suspended due to darkness.
 
Jakob Henriksson opened his title defense at the tournament with a 73 in the morning round and is 2-over par with one hole left to play in the second. Henriksson's day included seven total birdies with four coming over the last eight holes of the second round.
 
Rasmus Konradsson carded ODU's round of the day in the first round, shooting a 1-under par 70 at the par-71, 6,817-yard Golden Horseshoe Gold Course. Konradsson encountered trouble on the back nine of the second round and shot a 7-over 78.
 
Jakob Chicoyne fired an opening-round 80 and is 5-over with two holes remaining in the second round. Gustav Fransson shot 83 in the morning and followed with a 76 in the second round. Filip Wetterqvist carded a 79 in the opening round and is 12-over with three holes to go in the second round.
 
As a team, the Monarchs shot a 302 (+18) in the first round and are currently 19-over in the second round.
 
The second round of the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate wraps up tomorrow morning with the final round to follow after.
