Around the Horn
ODU lost a weekend series for the first time in nine tries, dropping two of three to Charlotte at the Bud. Andy Garriola hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th on Sunday as the Monarchs avoided their first sweep at home since March 2019 with a 13-12 win.

Old Dominion hit nine home runs against the 49ers, but seven came with no runners on base, including all four in Friday's 11-4 loss.

The Monarchs issued 24 walks over the weekend, including 10 in Saturday's 13-8 loss. Fifteen of those 24 walks came from ODU relievers.

Noah Dean threw 3.1 innings while striking out six, both career highs, to pick up the win on Sunday. Dean now has 24 strikeouts in 13 innings and has yet to allow a run.

Carter Trice had just the second four-hit game of his career and scored a personal-best four times on Sunday.

Garriola leads the Monarchs in average (.356), hits (32), home runs (10) and RBIs (32).

About Campbell
An NCAA Regional participant a year ago, Campbell enters Tuesday with an 11-12 record. The Camels did knock off No. 8 NC State 7-4 at home on March 2 and took one of two against No. 14 Liberty three weekends ago.

Most recently, Campbell took two of three against Presbyterian, including a 36-4 win on Sunday. In that game, the Camels put up the most runs in an NCAA game this season.

Zach Neto leads Campbell with a .348 average, 23 hits and six doubles. Bryce Arnold has five home runs to pace the team, and three other players have three homers. Jarrod Belbin has driven in 21 runners, including 10 against the Blue Hose on Sunday.

Jonathan Beymer is scheduled to start on Tuesday and is 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA. He has allowed 14 runs, nine earned, on 13 hits with 13 strikeouts and eight walks.

The Series
ODU and Campbell are meeting for the eighth time on Tuesday. The Monarchs are 4-3 all-time against the Camels. Old Dominion has lost the last three meetings, including a 10-8 decision in 2020 and a 4-1 result in 12 innings in the 2014 NCAA Columbia Regional.

What's Next
The Monarchs hit the Sunshine State for a Conference USA series with FIU Friday through Sunday. ODU then plays at East Carolina on Tuesday, April 5.
