NORFOLK, Va. – Jakob Henriksson looks to defend his individual medalist title as the Old Dominion men's golf team competes once again at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate this Monday and Tuesday. Live scoring of the 54-hole event is available on Golfstat.
A 9 a.m. shotgun start is on tap for both days. The Monarchs are paired with Towson, St. Bonaventure and Saint Joseph's for Monday's first and second rounds.
Last season, Henriksson lapped the field at the tournament, posting a 5-under-par score of 205 to finish six strokes ahead of his nearest competitor. In the process, the native of Stockholm, Sweden became the first ODU freshman to win a tournament since April 2016. Led by Henriksson, the Monarchs finished second at the event, four shots behind VCU.
The Monarchs are coming off their best showing of the spring season, a fourth-place finish at the Southern Invitational. Gustav Fransson carded a 3-under 69 in the final round to finish 10th at 1-under 215

ODU is next scheduled to compete at the Conference USA Championship, April 25-27 at Texarkana Country Club in Texarkana, Arkansas.
