DALLAS – Andy Garriola of the No. 18-ranked Old Dominion baseball team has been selected as Conference USA's Hitter of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.

The senior outfielder went 10-for-19 (.526) in four games last week, helping the Monarchs to a 3-1 record in those games. Garriola also hit four home runs and drove in nine.

The native of Sierra Madre, California got the week going with a 3-for-5 showing against East Carolina. He hit a solo shot in the bottom of the fifth inning to give ODU an 8-7 lead as the Monarchs went on the win 9-8 in the 10th. He then had a monster game in Old Dominion's 23-7 win over Middle Tennessee to open conference play – going 3-for-5 with two home runs, four runs scored and five driven in.

Garriola collected three more hits the next day as the Monarchs topped the Blue Raiders 6-3 to clinch the series. He ended the weekend with a three-run home run on Sunday.

Garriola has hit safely in his last 17 games. He leads the conference and is eighth nationally with nine home runs and ranks second in C-USA and 22nd in Division I with 27 RBIs.
