NORFOLK, Va. – Head coach of the Old Dominion volleyball team Fred Chao announced today the competition dates for the Monarchs' spring schedule. ODU is scheduled for 10 matches across four dates, including three at the ODU Volleyball Center.
Play begins on March 27 with matches against Campbell, UNCW and Appalachian State at the Triangle Volleyball Club in Raleigh, N.C. The Camels were Big South champions a season ago and played in the NCAA Tournament. The Monarchs defeated the Mountaineers in four sets last season.
ODU then travels to Lynchburg, Virginia on April 2 to play James Madison, Liberty and High Point. The Monarchs swept Liberty on their home court last season.
The Monarchs then host Christopher Newport, William & Mary and VCU at the ODU Volleyball Center on April 9. The spring slate concludes on April 16 with a road match at George Mason. ODU played VCU and George Mason in its inaugural season.
Old Dominion is coming off a 13-13 campaign last fall. The Monarchs tied for fourth in the Conference USA East Division and missed out on the conference tournament on tiebreaking criteria.
