NORFOLK, Va. – The 48th-ranked Old Dominion men's tennis team started a weekend home set with a 4-0 win over Kennesaw State on Thursday afternoon at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
In doubles, the Monarchs took victories in the last two slots for the team point. At number three, Francois Le Tallec and Codie van Schalkwyk scored a 6-1 decision over Harvey Conway and Kevin Patel. The team point was clinched at number two where Younes Lalami and Oliver Nolan won 6-4 over Raul Garcia and Hugo Salmeron.
In singles, Old Dominion put together wins at numbers two, six and three for the eventual 4-0 final score. Luca Maldoner won 6-1, 6-2 over Conway at number two, while Nolan scored a 6-3, 6-0 win at number six over Daniel Botti for a 3-0 lead. Younes Lalami clinched the win for ODU with a 6-4, 6-3 win at number three over Seru Tezuka.
The Monarchs continue their homestand on Sunday morning with an 11 a.m. match against Navy.
