NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University junior forward Kalu Ezikpe was named Conference USA Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending February 27 on Monday afternoon.
Ezikpe, a native of Lawrenceville, Ga., averaged 15.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per game as the Monarchs went 2-0 in a key home weekend. He opened the weekend with 17 points and a career-high 17 rebounds as Old Dominion defeated Florida Atlantic 70-51 on Thursday. Two days later, Ezikpe had 14 points and seven rebounds as the Monarchs defeated FIU 83-63.
On the year, Ezikpe is averaging 11.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game while hitting 52% from the field and 72.6% from the foul line.
The Monarchs are on the road Wednesday night facing Louisiana Tech at 7 p.m., EST before hosting Middle Tennessee on Saturday at 2 p.m. to close out the regular season
