Women’s Golf Signs Gonzalez, Kudo

NORFOLK, Va. – Head coach of the Old Dominion women's golf team Mallory Kane announced today the signing of Lucia Gonzalez and Minami Kudo for the 2022-23 season.
 
"We are excited and proud to have Lucia and Minami join the ODU golf family next year," Kane said. "They are model student-athletes, and we look forward to watching their successes for years to come."
 
Lucia Gonzalez | Monterrey, Mexico
Gonzalez hails from Monterrey, Mexico, where she was ranked top-10 nationally last season. Gonzalez claimed a top-10 finish at the 2022 Mexican Amateur and owns three top-10 AJGA finishes, including one top-five result. Additionally, she has been ranked top-three in her region for the past seven years.
 
"Lucia is very athletic and loves to compete," Kane said. "She is excited to represent ODU, and we expect her to make an immediate impact on our program."
 
Minami Kudo | Hachinohe, Japan | Seminole State
Kudo is currently a sophomore at Seminole State College in Florida. As a freshman, she helped the Raiders to their third NJCAA national championship and second in a row. Kudo tied for fifth at the national tournament, earning all-American honors as a result. This season, Seminole State is currently the top-ranked NJCAA team according to Golfstat, and Kudo is ranked fourth as an individual.
 
"Minami is an established and experienced player," Kane said. "Seminole State is a well-coached program and the two-time defending NJCAA National Champions."
