BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced a pair of academic awards recently for the 2021 season, and Old Dominion was recognized on both.
Five Monarchs were named as NFHCA Scholars of Distinction. A total of 280 student-athletes were recognized for having a 3.9 or higher GPA through the first semester of the 2021-22 academic year.
ODU recipients included: Nicole Fredricks, Marlee McClendon, Evelyn Murray, Shannon Quaile and Meghan Smart.
As a team, the Monarchs were also recognized on the NFHCA National All-Academic Team. ODU was one of 79 schools that had a team GPA over a 3.0 in the fall semester.
