LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Old Dominion women's tennis team took on the University of Kansas on Sunday afternoon and fell 4-2.
ODU took the doubles point with wins at the top two spots. At number one, the third-ranked tandem of Yuliia Starodubtseva and Tatsiana Sasnouskaya defeated Maria Titova and Malika Nguonoue 7-6. At number two, Alexandra Viktorovich and Sofia Johnson scored a 7-6 win over Sonia Smagina and Tiffany Lagarde.
Singles saw the Monarchs get a win at number one with 47th-ranked Starodubtseva recording a 6-4, 6-4 win over Titova. The host Jawhawks recorded wins at two, four, five and six to take the victory.
ODU returns to the home courts this weekend hosting Missouri on Friday at noon.
