NORFOLK, Va. – Sophomore infielder Carter Trice of the Old Dominion baseball team earned further honors this preseason as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association named him a Preseason Third Team All-American. The native of Mechanicsville, Virginia also received Second Team Preseason All-American recognition from Collegiate Baseball in December and from Perfect Game/Rawlings in January.

Trice enjoyed an award-laden debut campaign in 2021 as he helped the Monarchs to their first Conference USA championship and the No. 1 seed in the Columbia Regional. He batted .355 as a freshman and led the team in hits (83) and doubles (17). Trice ranked second in C-USA and 23rd nationally in hits and was third in the conference in batting average and fourth in home runs (14). He was voted Conference USA's Freshman of the Year as well as a First Team All-C-USA honoree and received first team freshman all-American honors from Perfect Game and Collegiate Baseball.
