Women's Tennis Heads To Kansas For Sunday Match

NORFOLK, Va. – The 17th-ranked Old Dominion women's tennis team heads to Lawrence, Kansas on Sunday to take on the Kansas Jayhawks in a 1 p.m. start at the Jayhawk Tennis Center.
 
ODU (5-4) enters the match after knocking off Virginia Tech 4-1 on Friday afternoon.  After dropping the doubles point, the Monarchs rebounded and took the first four completed singles matches to take the win.
 
Sofia Johnson clinched the dual match with a come-from-behind three-set win over Charlotte Cartledge 1-6, 6-1, 6-0 at number five for the win.
 
Kansas (4-3) has not played since last Sunday after a 5-1 win over Wyoming.  The Jayhawks won singles matches at the last five spots to take the victory. 
 
After Sunday's match, the Monarchs will be home for their next five matches starting on Friday with the University of Missouri at 12 p.m.
