NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's tennis teams returns home for a Friday matchup with Virginia Tech inside the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center starting at 1 p.m.

"It's always exciting to play at home. It's great to host Virginia Tech and I hope we hope to have a great turnout," said ODU Head Coach Dominic Manilla.
ODU (4-4) capped off a seven-match road swing by defeating Wisconsin 4-2 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Indoor National Championships at Wisconsin early Monday morning. After losing the doubles point, the Monarchs won four of the five completed singles matches to win the dual.
Alexandra Viktorovich was named on Wednesday as the Conference USA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week after going 2-0 at the ITA Nationals and knocked off the 23rd ranked player in the nation from Pepperdine in the process in straight sets.
The Monarchs stayed 17th in the latest ITA National Poll released on Wednesday afternoon, while in the Tennis Channel/U.S. Tennis Association College Tennis Top 25 they moved up one spot into a tie for 19th with the University of Washington.
Virginia Tech (2-3) enters the match after defeating Marshall 6-1 on Sunday. The Hokies will also be taking on Norfolk State at 5 p.m. on Friday. Three Hokies have three wins so far in singles to lead the team in Tamara Barad Itzhaki (3-1), Dariya Radulova (3-1) and Erika Cheng (3-2).
After Friday, the Monarchs will be back on the road to Lawrence, Kansas to take on the Kansas Jayhawks on Sunday at 1 p.m. EST.
