DALLAS – Conference USA tabbed Iggy Allen of the Old Dominion women's basketball team as its Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. The graduate guard helped the Monarchs to a pair of wins over the past week.
Allen averaged 21 points and five rebounds across two games with Middle Tennessee and UAB. She set team highs of 13 points and nine rebounds along with two assists and one block and steal in ODU's 58-56 home win over MTSU on Thursday. Allen was 9-of-12 from the foul line in that game, matching her career high in foul shots. The native of Pompano Beach, Florida then posted a season-high 29 points in an 81-75 victory at UAB, the Monarchs' first win at UAB since 1989. Allen was 11-of-18 from the floor and made a career-high six 3-pointers. Fifteen of her 29 came in the third quarter as ODU erased a two-point halftime deficit and took full control of the game.
Allen was recognized by C-USA for the fourth time in her career and the second time this season.
