NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's soccer team has announced its spring schedule, head coach Angie Hind announced on Tuesday.

"We are really excited about this years' spring schedule as it is different from what we have traditionally done.  We have structured it in a way that we get the chance to play against more opponents through a couple of tournament events as well as traditional 90 minute games," Hind said. "We want to give our players the best possible chance to develop this spring and for us a team to continue to grow. After a successful fall season like we had its so crucial that we keep moving forward and the best way to do that is to keep challenging ourselves."

ODU opens the spring slate with the annual Alumni Game on Saturday, March 5. The Monarchs have a weekend off before hosting VCU on Saturday, March 19.

The following weekend, the Monarchs head to George Mason to play George Washington, James Madison and American on Sunday, March 27.

ODU will play a tournament style format the following week at Longwood, facing off against East Carolina, Longwood and JMU.

ODU returns to Norfolk to host William & Mary on Saturday, April 9, before concluding spring games at NC State on Saturday, April 16.

"It's a great opportunity to see what other players can do now that we have had some graduations and shape how we may look moving forward with new personalities, different leaders and a slightly different look. The caliber of opponent is excellent and also very diverse in style of play, and I know our team is working really hard to be able to show well against these strong opponents."
