Cray and Headen to Play in SPIRAL Tropical Bowl

ORLANDO – Old Dominion football defensive backs Roger Cray and Joe Joe Headen were selected to play in the SPIRAL Tropical Bowl, the bowl announced on Saturday. The game will take place on Saturday, Jan. 15 at 4 p.m. in Orlando's Camping World Stadium.
 
A graduate transfer from WKU, Cray started all 11 games he played in at corner. He led Conference USA and finished 12th in the country with 1.18 passes defended per game. Cray led ODU with 12 pass breakups, the second most in a single-season in school history.
 
Cray recorded 39 tackles, one interception and a tackle for loss on the year. He was named C-USA honorable mention.
 
Headen played in all 13 games this season, starting the final 12 at safety. He finished seventh on the team with 58 tackles and tied for the team lead with a pair of interceptions. His 89-yard interception return in the regular-season finale against Charlotte was the longest interception return in program history. 
 
For his career, Headen finished with 155 tackles, four interceptions and 21 pass breakups. The 21 pass breakups ranks second in school history, only behind the 24 breakups by Brandon Addison (2015-17).
 
Cray becomes the fourth Monarch to play in the Tropical Bowl, joining TJ Ricks, Isaiah Harper and Tony Barnett.
