NORFOLK, Va. – Head coach of the Old Dominion men's golf team Murray Rudisill revealed today the spring portion of the Monarchs' competition schedule. Five regular-season tournaments and the Conference USA Championship are on deck for ODU in the spring.
ODU's slate begins Feb. 13-15 with the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate at Hammock Creek Golf Club in Palm City, Florida. Then, the Monarchs leave the continental United States for the first time since 2012 for the Dorado Beach Collegiate at TPC Dorado Beach in Dorado, Puerto Rico. ODU was last in Puerto Rico in March 2012 for the Caribbean Intercollegiate. The Dorado Beach Collegiate runs Feb. 27 through March 1.
ODU then features at the Donald Ross Collegiate Classic March 7-8 at Mid Pines Golf Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina. After that, the Monarchs have a pair of familiar events to conclude the regular season.
The Monarchs compete at the Southern Intercollegiate March 14-15 at The Falls Club in Lake Worth, Florida. ODU opened up the 2021 spring season at the Southern Intercollegiate and finished fifth as a team with a trio of top-20 individual finishes.
Next, Old Dominion makes the short trip to the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate, which runs March 28-29 at Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Williamsburg, Virginia. The Monarchs claimed their best team finish of the spring season when they placed second at the event in March. Jakob Henriksson became the first ODU freshman to take individual medalist honors in five years with a convincing six-stroke victory.
The Conference USA Championship is once again scheduled to be played at Texarkana Country Club in Texarkana, Arkansas. Three rounds of stroke play run April 25-27 with match play semifinals and finals to follow.
